Working
process
Since localization projects are always massive and have short
turn-around periods, a sophisticated and consistent quality
management process must be adopted to meet the requirements.
We developed our own quality management process based on LISA
QA model, ISO 9000ff and some other translation standards.
Our translation procedure is as follows:
Step1:
Specify translators, reviewers, proofreaders and a project
manager for the project and develop a detailed schedule.
The project manager will control the whole process and
quality, cooperation between the workgroup members,
and communication with the client.
Step2: Project
manager directs the workgroup to do some preparations
for the project, including collecting related materials,
creating glossary, developing some special standards.
Step3:
Translators translate the documents under strict
quality control and progress control.
Step4: Editors
review translator’s job carefully and thoroughly,
amend any translation mistakes, inputting errors, linguistic
defects.
Step5: A
technical specialist in the corresponding area goes
through all the translations to assure they are free
of technical inaccuracies.
Step6:
Printout a hard copy. A proofreader will read and add
the final polish to the files.
During these steps, our project manager will keep in touch
with, respond to, and work together with the client to resolve
any problems that may occur.
